Plot

The plot of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is a mix of comedy, drama, and music that keeps you entertained and engaged throughout. The movie starts with Surinder meeting Taani at her wedding day, where he is smitten by her beauty and personality. He is shocked when he learns that her fiancé and his entire family have died in a bus accident on their way to the ceremony. Out of compassion, he agrees to marry Taani when her dying father requests him to do so. Taani reluctantly accepts Surinder as her husband but makes it clear that she does not love him.

Surinder tries to make Taani happy by giving her space and freedom, but he also secretly wishes that she would love him back. He gets an idea when he sees her watching a dance reality show called Dancing Jodi, where couples compete for a trip to Japan. He decides to enroll himself and Taani in the show as Raj, a loud and colorful character who is completely different from his real self. He wears a wig, sunglasses, flashy clothes, and speaks in a funny accent. He also acts as Surinder's friend and advises him on how to impress Taani.

Taani is initially annoyed by Raj's antics but gradually warms up to him as he makes her laugh and enjoy life again. She starts to develop feelings for Raj but also feels guilty for betraying Surinder. She does not know that Raj is actually Surinder in disguise. Surinder hopes that Taani will eventually realize that he is Raj and love him for who he is.

The plot reaches its climax when Surinder decides to reveal his true identity to Taani on the day of the final round of Dancing Jodi. However, he changes his mind when he sees Taani praying to God to help her choose between Raj and Surinder. He realizes that he cannot force Taani to love him and decides to let her go. He tells her that Raj has left and will not come back. He also gives her a divorce letter and tells her that she is free to live her life as she wishes.

Taani is heartbroken and confused by Raj's sudden disappearance and Surinder's decision to divorce her. She decides to leave Surinder's house and go back to her hometown. On the way, she sees a billboard of Dancing Jodi with her and Raj's picture on it. She notices that Raj is wearing the same ring that Surinder gave her as a wedding gift. She realizes that Raj is actually Surinder and that he loves her deeply. She runs back to Surinder's house and confesses her love for him. Surinder is overjoyed and embraces her. The movie ends with them dancing together as a happy couple.

Acting

The acting of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is one of the highlights of the movie. Shah Rukh Khan delivers a brilliant performance as both Surinder and Raj, showing his versatility and charisma as an actor. He convincingly portrays the contrast between the two characters, as well as the subtle similarities that hint at their true identity. He makes the audience empathize with Surinder's dilemma and root for his love story. He also brings out the humor and romance of Raj's persona, making him a likable and charming character.

Anushka Sharma, who made her debut with this movie, also impresses with her acting skills. She plays Taani with grace and energy, showing her transformation from a depressed and hopeless widow to a lively and cheerful woman. She expresses Taani's emotions and conflicts with authenticity and nuance. She also has a great chemistry with Shah Rukh Khan, especially in the dance sequences.

The supporting cast of the movie also does a good job in their roles. Vinay Pathak, who plays Surinder's friend Bobby, provides comic relief and support to the main characters. He also acts as a narrator who explains the meaning of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, which translates to "a match made by God". Manmeet Singh, who plays Raj's friend Pappu, also adds some humor and fun to the movie. The other actors who play the contestants and judges of Dancing Jodi also contribute to the entertainment value of the movie.

Cinematography

The cinematography of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is another aspect that enhances the quality of the movie. The movie uses a variety of camera angles, shots, and movements to create different moods and effects. For example, the movie uses close-ups and zooms to show the emotions and expressions of the characters, especially in the scenes where Surinder and Taani interact. The movie also uses wide shots and aerial views to show the scale and beauty of the locations, such as Amritsar, where the movie is set.

The movie also uses lighting, colors, and special effects to create contrast and symbolism. For example, the movie uses dark and dull colors to show Surinder's boring and ordinary life, while it uses bright and vibrant colors to show Raj's exciting and extraordinary life. The movie also uses light and shadow to show the difference between Surinder's real self and his disguise as Raj. The movie also uses some computer-generated imagery (CGI) to create realistic scenes, such as the bus accident that kills Taani's fiancé.

The cinematography of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is comparable to other movies in the same genre or by the same director. For example, it resembles Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, another romantic comedy film directed by Aditya Chopra and starring Shah Rukh Khan, in terms of its use of colors, locations, and camera techniques. b70169992d
