I've looked everywhere to figure out why I can't get CS6 software installed from the Adobe site. The error msg is "installation app can't be opened. You should eject disk image." The question mark near the error message says the certificate for the app may have been revoked, but searching for that problem hasn't yielded anything useful. I have creative cloud installed, and tried installing from there, but they don't even list the Create Suite Design Standard as an option to download. Hope you can help!

Thanks for your quick response, Jeff. I followed the steps to the letter, but the install still didn't work. Also uninstalled Creative Cloud and tried again after reading some of the comments from Ned's link. Also didn't work. Any other ideas? I'm SO frustrated...

What error message do you receive when dragging the Install Unix Executable to the terminal window? You can find the steps to install Creative Suite on macOS 10.12 in post #10 of this discussion. It's is now 2018 and I am having similar issues as mentioned by folks above. When I attempted to run the install.app in terminal by dragging, I received a strange error that I hadn't seen when attempting to install it the normal ways. Apparently CS5.5 can NOT install on a hard drive with 'Case Sensitive' formatting. For me this was strange, I was migrating from an older machine which ran CS5.5 great. Then I realized I used an external drive to store the image (Carbon Copy Cloner) and then installed from the external drive. That is where the problem came in. The external drive was formatted with 'Case Sensitive' instead of just 'Mac OS Extended (Journaled)'.

So, I have now reformatted the external drive, and am now cloning the original computer again, and plan to install the new clone onto the second machine. Hopefully this will make the new machine function the same as the old (both are running Mac OS Sierra). Both machines are older than 2013.
